Decided 0.099 is just too much of a deal to pass by and have converted my final last btc to bitcoin cash.
I am like many in here, a bitcoin maximalist. I bought my first bitcoins at $6 and also like many, became obsessed telling everyone around me that they should buy and it will be worth thousands one day (i was too embarrassed to say 100's of thousands). I have never had much interest in alts, I was too much of a coward to buy ICO ethers. I came from a gold and silver investing/austrian economics studying back ground. The dream of bitcoin finally freeing people and bringing down the central banking cartels was very attractive to me.
I believed that bitcoin will be the winner through the network effects. Cryptocurrency is a game of network effects, make no mistake about it. And now, at least until LN is complete, the "use as a currency" network effect has been made available for the taking. Unfortunately, I don't think LN is coming anytime soon and that network effect will be taken. Little do they realise, this is the network effect that will take all the others with it.
The block size cap was a real worry for me. The general direction of core and the complete lack of respect for the functions of the market troubled me deeply.
The creation of BCH and the vibrant energy of the community around it takes me right back to the early days of bitcoin and it's so encouraging. Watching the majority of the speakers at the Satoshi Vision conference, in combination with this low price, it's now a done deal for me. Bye bye BTC it was nice knowing you. I never thought I would say it but I feel my investment is much safer in BCH than in BTC.
