They don't really make much off of lightning as far as I can tell. Routing isn't extremely profitable. Sure, there's liquid, but that only gets like 1 transaction every half hour, so if block stream is trying to promote liquid, they aren't doing a very good job.
I'm kind of a big block convert, now, and I don't really think LN is compatible with decentralization, but I fail to see how blockstream manages to profit off of crippling bitcoin core
