Is it possible for BTC to be used by billions of people in this world?
I just can’t imagine how it would be possible since BTC is so slow and the fees are going to be insanely expensive if there are billions of users and perhaps trillions of transactions all waiting to be made.
Won’t fees be thousands of dollars for any transaction to be made within few days?
Even with Lightning, the confirmation will have to be made on the blockchain eventually. I don’t know how BTC will scale if it becomes mass adopted to be honest. It’s like expecting a modem connection to stream games in 4K 120fps. I think the world will eventually look for a better alternative. If it costs thousands of dollars to move BTC, the whole point of “store of value” narrative will be destroyed.
